Mission
Uplift and Center
We acknowledge that many people can’t find mental health care that they can afford or that feels comfortable for them in their intersectional identities, but we know that many New York City and national resources exist. As clinical psychologists in training, we feel called to create a community resource that collects and offers this information.
While these resources may be helpful for everyone, we present these in the spirit of centering marginalized identities, including LGBTQ, POC, and low-income folks. Our goal is to uplift and center these communities that have historically been oppressed, and while we are aware that these resources may not cover every marginalized identity, we present this as a preliminary step towards increasing access for all to mental health resources.
On this site, you can find:
Low-fee and sliding scale clinical services
LGBTQ-friendly clinical services
POC therapists’ clinical services
Resources for those seeking additional education about intersectionality in therapy
Trauma-informed treatment guidelines
